Transport

Air

Travel to and from Morocco is extremely easy. Several airlines are now flying to Morocco opening the gateway in-between Europe and the North Africa. Easy Jet now flies to Marrakesh for around £31, and Tangiers is apparently next on the list.

GB Airways (part of BA) have also announced they will be starting flights from Tangiers for only £169 return. Atlas Blue, which is a part of Royal Air Maroc, is now flying to Morocco for £60 return.

Flight time is just 3 hours from the UK. Most international flights arrive at Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport. The airport is modern and impressive, and contains a tourist office, car hire desks, currency exchange counters, shops, a post office, bars and restaurants, and a prayer hall.

The second busiest airport, Agadir, has non-stop flights to and from several European capitals. Marrakesh, Tangier and Ouarzazate are among other cities handling a lot of international traffic. Royal Air Maroc domestic flights link towns all the way to Laayoune and Dakhla in the extreme south. The Airports are being upgraded and new ones are being built.

Ferry

Enjoy a lovely ferry ride from Spain to Morocco, the journey is just 30 minutes by hydrofoil from Tarifa and Algeciras ports and the distance is just 14km.

Car hire

There are several places to hire a car in Morocco. Hiring a car allows more freedom of movement and ease of travel around the country. Most car places require you to be 21 years old, however some places require you to be 25 years old, and all require a valid drivers licence. The usual method of payment is via credit card. It is possible with some car hire places to pick up and drop off the car in a different destination.
