Health Services

When visiting Morocco there are no special health requirements, it is not necessary to have any injections before travel.

If you are planning on holiday or relocating for an extended time it is a good idea to take out Private Health Insurance. This insurance policy should include medical cover and a flight back to Europe in case of a medical emergency.

Morocco has several hospitals, the healthcare is basic although the vital equipment and infrastructure is in place.

Some things to bare in mind when in Morocco:

  • Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. The climate is extremely warm so keep your fluids up. Best to stick to bottle water to be on the safe side.
  • Wear plenty of sunscreen to avoid sunburn.
  • There are plenty of pharmacies in Morocco so organising prescription medication should not be a problem (no need to stock up before you go).
