Murdeira Beach Resort, Cape Verde Development's most ambitious project to date, promises to deliver the highest standard of facilities and accommodation on the Island of Sal.
Expected completion in September 2010.
Murdeira Beach Resort, Cape Verde Development's most ambitious project to date, promises to deliver the highest standard of facilities and accommodation on the Island of Sal. With over 500 units scheduled for construction on the nearly 30 hectare site, the resort will also have a 75 berth marina, extensive sporting facilities, commercial space, a boat house with a diving centre and a variety of bars and restaurants.
Nestled in the sheltered bay of Murdeira on the west coast of the island, Murdeira Beach Resort is beautifully positioned on a 29 hectare stretch of coastline. Its villas and apartments offer panoramic views of the ocean, casual dining areas with terraces overlooking the marina, which will also host a boat house, commercial units and a formal restaurant. Beyond the gardens are tennis courts, swimming pools and sun lounge areas.
The resort was launched in Ireland and the UK in Spring 2006. Please see our News section for further information and also our Image Gallery for pictures of the Murdeira Beach site. This Cape Verdi Property development is expected to complete in September 2010.
Sal is one of the most developed islands in Cape Verde. It has idyllic, white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Tourists who visit the Sal island immediately see the potential of the area. The island received its name from the discovery of a lagoon in an extinct volcano at its centre which produces salt after it rains. From North to South Sal is about 34kms long and does not exceed 12kms in width. The overall surface is 216km2. The island is small, but potential is enormous.
The international airport of Sal is large and serves as one of the main gateways to the whole archipelago. On its busiest summer day Sal handles more air traffic than some of our regional airports in Ireland and the UK. Sal has a dry tropical climate with low humidity. Its average temperature is 25˚C, there is low rainfall, and it has the good fortune not to suffer the ravishes of hurricanes, making it a safe year round bet for the discerning traveller.
Tourists visit Sal and fall in love with the tiny island with enormous potential.
