Air

Sal has a very modern International Airport which is situated in the middle of the island near the Capital of Sal, Espargos. The flight time to Cape Verde is just 5.5 hours from the UK. Sal you can fly to the other islands, although be aware you may need to book in advance as flights generally fill up quickly.

One of the easiest ways to travel to Cape Verde is via Lisbon in Portugal and then onto Sal or Santiago in Cape Verde. Praia, the capital of Cape Verde is soon to have a new airport which demonstrates the rapid rate tourism is increasing Cape Verde.

Cabo Verde Airlines is one of the longest airlines running airlines and they have services operating from several European cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Madrid, Milan and Munich with connecting fares from most UK airports.

Ferry

Two of the Cape Verde islands operate ferries between Sao Vicente to Santo Antao and Santiago – Fogo – Brava.

Hiring a car

There are several car hire places on most of the islands. You will need a valid licence, passport and places will require you to be either 21 or 25 years old.
